| A Hand's Entry

An entry from the journal of a Warden soldier as they recount the events of Gideon's rise to power:

Only the closest within Gideon’s circle were ever made aware of his plans. How ironic it was then, that our general, Faolan Crowley, was amongst those few. As it was then, the Hands of Callahan, the very regiment created by Ian Callahan, would be the ones to dismantle his empire piece by piece. Although, of course that's not what they told us.

What I remember about the reformation of the empire was how quiet it was. During the waning days of the Northern Wars the Hands of Callahan were discreetly transferred back to Whedon’s Row. It was a silent trip, we all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts, any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word, not on the trip to Whedon’s Row, not when he gave the order, and not when we marched into the capital. Not a word.

With the capture of Whedon’s Row and the fall of the traitorous council, Gideon’s rise to power was complete. In recognition of our service and loyalty to Gideon, the Hand’s of Callahan were placed under the direct command of Faolan, the new Minister of War. Armed with deadly new weapons, mechanized contraptions, and crimson adorned uniforms, our presence let the Caovish people know that the days of the old empire were well over. We were establishing a new era, an era of war and conquest.

To fill in the gaps between updates I thought it would be a neat idea to build more upon this alt-timeline of the Foxhole conflict for anyone interested in it. Once again I cannot thank MyManMarx enough for helping me with the writing, and you guys can expect the Warden vehicle textures (aside from the field guns) to be ready either tomorrow or Friday.
